WayBackWilderness – Justin Cook

Justin Cook WaybackWildernessJustin was raised in rural Northern Alabama on a farm surrounded by woodland. Hunting and fishing with his father and friends, working cows, clearing land, building fence, and repairing machinery was part of life. At a very early age Justin became fascinated by the rich natural history and archaeology of the Southeast; He was incredibly intrigued by the arrowheads and artifacts he would encounter in the woods. For over 15 years Justin has traveled the country to learn from renown flintknappers, and has perfected the ancient art of using stone and antler tools to recreate the finely flaked projectile points of antiquity. in 2015 Justin and his wife Jenny were featured on 7 episodes of Discovery Channel’s “Men Women Wild.” They were dropped in the Norwegian wilderness, 7 degrees above the Arctic circle with only the clothes on their back a map, and the gear they could fit into one small bag to test their survival skills for 21 days. Not only did they complete the challenge, they managed to live off the land comfortably with food to spare.

Justin is also an Environmental Scientist for the state of Florida and resides in Pensacola.
