Mountain Survival Course- Adirondacks

The Mountain Survival Course will teach mountain-specific skills and emergency survival, and will begin to transition to more primitive backups for the basic techniques learned. This course is 5 days in duration.
Students will learn skills in fire craft, survival shelters, and water and food procurement. In addition, candidates will receive training in land navigation and survival signals. The full spectrum of survival will be taught in a crawl, walk, run format to ensure students are successful and learn these critical skills.
In addition, this course is one of the required modules for the joint Wilderness Survival Instructor Training and Certification course held by the Pathfinder School and Flint & Steel Critical Skills Group.
This is an immersion-style course. Students should be reasonably fit and expect to move up to 5km per day learning and gathering resources.
